Overview

The Locations feature helps you track where your valuable assets are physically stored. This is essential for insurance purposes, estate planning, quick retrieval, and security management.

Accessing Locations

Navigate to storehouses.app/locations

Default Locations

Storehouses includes common storage location presets:
  • Home Safe - Personal safe at your residence
  • Bank Safe Deposit Box - Bank vault storage
  • Brinks Vault - Professional vault services
  • Wine Cellar - Temperature-controlled wine storage
  • Custom Storage - Any other storage facility

Creating Custom Locations

Open Locations Page

Navigate to the Locations page

Click 'Add Location'

Click the “New Location” button

Enter Location Details

Fill in the location information:

Save

Click “Create Location” to save
Be cautious with storing sensitive access codes. While Storehouses is secure, consider using a separate password manager for highly sensitive access information.

Assigning Items to Locations

When Adding an Item

Select a location from the dropdown when creating any new item.

From Item Details

  1. Open any item’s detail page
  2. Click “Edit”
  3. Select or create a location
  4. Save changes

Bulk Assignment

  1. Go to the Locations page
  2. Open a location
  3. Click “Add Items”
  4. Select multiple items
  5. Click “Assign to Location”

Viewing Location Contents

Click on any location to see:

Managing Locations

Edit Location

From any location view:
  1. Click the edit icon
  2. Update name, address, or notes
  3. Save changes

Move Items Between Locations

Open Source Location

View the location containing the item(s)

Select Items

Choose items to move

Click 'Move'

Click the “Move to Location” button

Choose Destination

Select the new location

Confirm

Confirm the move

Delete Location

To remove a location:
  1. Open the location
  2. Click delete icon
  3. Choose what to do with items:
    • Move to another location (recommended)
    • Set items to “No location”
  4. Confirm deletion
You cannot delete a location that contains items without first reassigning those items.

What to Document

Document Access
