Storehouses supports nine different asset categories, each with tailored fields to capture the most relevant information for that type of asset.

How to Add an Item

Navigate to Add Page

Click “Add Item” from your dashboard or go to storehouses.app/add

Select Category

Choose the asset type you’re adding:
  • Precious Metals
  • Luxury Watches
  • Gemstones
  • Fine Jewelry
  • Wine
  • Spirits
  • Fine Art
  • Arms & Armor
  • Other Collectibles

Fill in Details

Complete the category-specific form with your asset’s information

Save

Click “Save Item” to add it to your portfolio

Common Fields (All Categories)

Every item includes these basic fields:

Tips for Adding Items

More information makes your records more valuable for:
  • Insurance claims
  • Tax documentation
  • Estate planning
  • Future sales
Upload high-quality photos showing:
  • Overall item
  • Hallmarks or signatures
  • Condition details
  • Certificates or documentation
  • Serial numbers (if applicable)
Be careful with photos containing serial numbers - these are stored securely but consider privacy when sharing portfolios.
Always record:
  • Purchase price (for cost basis)
  • Purchase date
  • Seller/source
  • Purchase receipts (upload as photos)
This information is valuable for taxes and resale.
Track where items are stored for:
  • Quick retrieval
  • Insurance purposes
  • Estate planning
  • Security planning
Organize items into collections based on:
  • Type (e.g., “Gold Coins”, “Silver Bars”)
  • Purpose (e.g., “Investment”, “Personal Collection”)
  • Source (e.g., “Estate Items”, “Recent Purchases”)
  • Location (e.g., “Vault A”, “Home Safe”)

Bulk Adding Items

For adding multiple similar items:

Add First Item

Add one item with full details

Use as Template

After saving, click “Add Similar” to create a new item with pre-filled fields

Modify Unique Details

Update only the fields that differ (e.g., serial number, purchase date)

Repeat

Continue for similar items
For truly identical items (e.g., 100 identical silver rounds), use the “Quantity” field instead of creating 100 separate entries.

See the complete item detail page

Edit Information

Update any fields as needed

Add to Collection

Organize into collections

Share

Include in shared portfolio views
