Think of collections as folders or categories you create to organize your portfolio however makes sense for you.Free plan users have one default collection (“My Collection”) to organize their items. What Are Collections?
Collections are user-defined groups of items. Unlike categories (which are fixed based on asset type), collections are completely customizable.Common Collection Uses

Accessing Collections
Navigate to the Collections page at storehouses.app/collectionsCreating a Collection
Creating custom collections requires a Pro or Lifetime subscription. Free plan users have a default collection (“My Collection”) for all their items.

Open Collections Page
Click “Collections” in the navigation menu

Click 'New Collection'
Click the “Create Collection” button

Name Your Collection
Enter a descriptive nameExamples:
- “Gold Coins”
- “Swiss Watches”
- “Bordeaux Wines 2010-2020”
- “American Silver Eagles”

Add Description (Optional)
Include notes about the collection purpose or criteria

Save
Click “Create” to save your new collection
Adding Items to Collections
There are three ways to add items to a collection:Method 1: When Adding a New Item
When creating a new item, use the “Collection” dropdown to assign it to a collection.Method 2: From Item Details
- Open any item’s detail page
- Click “Edit”
- Select a collection from the dropdown
- Save changes
Method 3: Bulk Assignment
- Go to the Collections page
- Open a collection
- Click “Add Items”
- Select multiple items from your portfolio
- Click “Add Selected”
Managing Collections
View Collection Contents
Click on any collection to see:- All items in the collection
- Total value of items
- Number of items
- Collection statistics
Edit Collection
From the collection view:- Click the edit icon
- Update name or description
- Save changes
Remove Items from Collection
To remove an item from a collection:- Open the collection
- Find the item
- Click “Remove from Collection”
Removing an item from a collection doesn’t delete the item - it just removes the collection assignment.
Delete Collection
To delete a collection:- Open the collection
- Click the delete icon
- Confirm deletion
Collection Statistics
Each collection displays:number
Number of items in the collection

Combined value of all items in the collection

Breakdown of asset categories within the collection

Filtering Within Collections
Use filters to narrow down items within a collection:- Search - Find items by name or description
- Category - Show only specific asset types
- Location - Filter by storage location
- Value range - Show items within a value range
- Date added - Filter by when items were added to collection
Sorting Collections
Sort items within a collection by:- Name (A-Z or Z-A)
- Value (high to low or low to high)
- Date added (newest or oldest)
- Purchase price
- Category

Keep Collections Focused
Create collections with clear criteria rather than mixing unrelated items.Good: “Gold Sovereigns” (specific coin type)
Less Good: “Valuable Stuff” (too broad)
Use Descriptive Names

Choose names that clearly indicate the collection’s contents or purpose.Examples:
- “Investment Grade Gold Bullion”
- “Pre-1933 US Gold Coins”
- “Grand Cru Bordeaux 2009-2010”
Limit Collection Count

Too many collections can become hard to manage. Consider:
- 5-10 collections for most users
- Use sub-collections or detailed names instead of creating dozens of collections

- Review collections periodically
- Remove or reorganize as needed

Exporting Collection Data
Export data for specific collections:- Open the collection
- Click “Export”
- Choose format (CSV or PDF)
- Download the collection report
Sharing Collections
You can share specific collections via portfolio sharing:- Create a share link
- Select specific collections to include
- Share the link with authorized viewers
